Express Design Racing

Express Design Vinyl Grafix proprietor,
David Ainley, has been competing in
powerboat racing since mid 2005.Bullet
Express is a 1750 Bullet boat powered by a
V6 Mercury outboard and competes in the
Sports Mono class of racing, supporting the
Formula 1 Superboat Series.

New for the 2007 season was a brand new
rig, consisting of a lightweight race spec 1850
Bullet Boat, and a 225hp 3L Mercury
outboard. Boats in this class are capable of
speeds in excess of 90 mph, and compete in
closed circuit competition, against 5 to 10
fellow competitors. Stock engine
specifications in this class bring very close
competition and some quite spectacular
racing.

2010 has brought a new series, being the
Australian Formula Powerboat Grand Prix
series, and a sponsorship deal with the
"Slightly Twisted" F1 powerboat team, and
Chance Boats. This will see David piloting a

brand new Chance 1900, complete with carbon fibre, reinforced cockpit. This will be an Australian first, and possibly a world first
to see a safety cell installed in an open cockpit outboard mono boat. The new rig should be ready to hit the water for the next round
of the AFPGP series to be held at Port Macquarie in July.

Racing is held in 6 rounds of competition up and down the east coast of Australia,from as far south as Geelong, Victoria to
